This policy explains how PlotsLand Technologies, Bengaluru, India ("PlotsLand", "we", "us") handles personal data when you use plotsland.in and its apps — whether you are searching for a plot, posting one, or posting a buyer requirement. It should be read together with our Terms of Use. It is written to align with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

You give us directly:

• Account details — your phone number and/or email address (used for OTP sign-in), your name, and optional profile details such as your city and role (owner, broker, or buyer).

• OTP verification data — the codes we send and whether they were verified. OTPs are short-lived and never reused.

• Listing content — plot details, price, area, location, approvals you declare (e.g. RERA/DTCP), photos, and any documents you share for verification.

• Requirements and messages — buyer requirements you post and enquiries or reports you send through the Platform.

• Payment details — when you buy a plan or promotion, our payment gateway collects your payment instrument details. We receive only the transaction reference, status, and amount — never your full card number, UPI PIN, or banking passwords.

Collected automatically:

• Usage data — searches you run, filters you apply, listings you view, save, or report, and features you use.

• Device and log data — IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps, used for security and debugging.

• Approximate location — only when you use features like "near me" and your device asks for your permission first. We use it to run the search; we do not track your movements.

• to create and secure your account and sign you in with OTPs;

• to publish your listings and requirements and show them to relevant users;

• to match buyer requirements with listings and send saved-search and match alerts you have opted into;

• to deliver enquiries between buyers and sellers while keeping numbers masked;

• to process payments for plans and promotions and issue invoices;

• to moderate content, verify listings, investigate reports, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse;

• to fix bugs, measure what works, and improve the product;

• to comply with law and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

We send transactional messages (OTPs, alerts, receipts, moderation updates) by SMS, email, or push notification. Marketing messages are sent only where permitted, and you can opt out of them at any time from notification settings.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Other users, by design — your listing (photos, plot details, locality, your first name and verification status) is public. Your phone number stays masked until you choose to connect through the reveal flow.

• Payment gateway — currently Razorpay, to process payments, prevent payment fraud, and handle refunds.

• SMS and email providers — to deliver OTPs, alerts, and receipts to your phone or inbox.

• Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting, storage, and error-monitoring services that process data on our instructions under contract.

• Authorities and legal process — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

• A successor business — if PlotsLand is merged or acquired, your data may transfer under this policy's protections.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (like your city and recent searches), and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the Platform. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the site will work, but you'll be signed out and some preferences will reset. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

• Account data — for as long as your account is active, and up to 90 days after deletion to complete removal from backups.

• OTP codes — minutes; they expire after use or a short validity window. OTP delivery logs are kept briefly for fraud prevention.

• Listings and reports — while live, and for a limited period after closure or suspension to handle disputes and repeat-abuse checks.

• Payment and invoice records — as required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically 8 years).

• Server logs — typically 30 to 180 days for security and reliability.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to production systems is restricted and logged, phone numbers are masked in the product by default, and OTP sign-in means there is no password database to steal. Rate limits and monitoring guard against brute-force and scraping. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

• Access and correction — view and edit your profile, listings, and requirements from your dashboard, or ask us for a copy of your data.

• Deletion — close your account and ask us to erase your personal data. We may retain what the law requires (e.g. invoices) or what is needed to resolve disputes.

• Notifications — choose which alerts you receive from notification settings; transactional messages like OTPs can't be turned off while you use the service.

• Location — "near me" only works with your device permission, which you can revoke at any time.

• Grievance and appeal — you may complain to us (see below) and, if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India as provided under the DPDP Act.

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@plotsland.in from your registered email, or use the in-app support options. We respond within the timelines set by law.

PlotsLand is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.

As PlotsLand grows we may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date; for significant changes we will notify you on the Platform or by email/SMS before they take effect.
